Ruth Roman was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, the youngest of three daughters of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline (Gold) and Abraham Roman. When her father passed away as a carnival barker, at the age of a young girl and she was forced to support the family working both as a cook and server. Ruth was born in the poorest neighborhood in Boston Massachusetts in which she went to school. After only two school years she left for an acting career. The path she chose did not come without challenges. In New York, her first job involved posing stills for crime magazines. acting work she longed to do was abyssal. After a brief stint as a club hat girl and a club hat girl, she made the decision to go home to the United States and quit her job. She was in Boston where she worked during the late night, she was an actor for New England Repertory Company and for the remainder of her time, was an usherette. She also been accepted into Bishop-Lee Theatre School, where she was a drama student.
