Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She works for ESPN and is an SportsCenter News Anchor. In 2016, she was a part of ESPN. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been so since when she was nine years old. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She was able to work with national producers on programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. After this, the CBS station of St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009 she relocated to Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter at KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reports on her show covered immigration issues drugs, immigration, as well as other issues on both the Texas and Mexico border. Also, she was a Spanish reporter for the newscast at 5 p.m. as well as anchor and reporter on the newscast of 9 p.m. with a reporter and anchor in English and again a Spanish reporter from 10 p.m. She also filled in for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on additional duties. She was a reporter for all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Apart from that she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. The show was commissioned as a sports anchor by Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. The anchor also worked in the same role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents were originally native to Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. She also has an older sibling. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. Within a brief time her father divorced from her mother and she then remarried in 1995 a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away of kidney carcinoma in the year 2006. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed an offer to work. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school, however she knew the things she wanted to be doing. She loved the campus. They also offered her the major that she desired. Following her graduation from high school, she decided to go to the university and major in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for many years, became a friend. It was he who inspired her confidence, and his passion for Journalism deeply touched her. She determined to meet his demands, never letting him down.
